Special 2 day TRAINING WORKSHOP in NARRATIVE EXPOSURE THERAPY (NET)
psychologists & psychiatrists & mental health practitioners
July 6-7, 2015, from 9.30 am – 4 pm
Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET)
Narrative Exposure Therapy is an evidence-based approach for the treatment of trauma-related psychological disorders. Given its focus on the autobiographical elaboration of traumatic experiences, NET is particularly suited for populations affected by multiple and continuous traumatic experiences. It has been developed as a standardised, short-term approach. The seminar will be facilitated by clinical
& field practitioners with expertise in trauma-spectrum disorders, brain research, and humanitarian aid.
Content and aim of the training workshop
The workshop will involve a combination of lectures, exercises and role plays, focused on the theoretical and practical skill training of the (future) trauma practitioner. A participatory, process oriented approach based on the principles of adult learning, the workshop will create space for discussion and collaboration making use of participants’ individual experiences, ideas and knowledge.
This special NET training is designed for blind or severely vision impaired mental health professionals working with clients who have been exposed to traumatic events. The training will be as much as possible tailored to the special needs and learning interests of blind professionals. We foresee that participants will be interdisciplinary and will come from national and international settings. The workshop language is English.
Registration is possible until June 15th 2015= 450€ includes lunch, coffee break and workshop material.
