Foreign and Georgian Experts of Psychotrauma Agree on Post-emergency Psychosocial ResponsesThe population traumatized as a result of the August Conflict needs qualified psychosocial assistance during the post-crisis period as well as afterwards. The state party should elaborate long-term strategy of the mental health care for those affected covering 3-5 years. These are (amongst others) the conclusions of the International conference "Post-Emergency Responses in crisis situation: An Integrative Approach to Psychotrauma" that was held in Tbilisi on 17-18 October of 2008. Emergency situation Georgia, August 2008South Ossetia is one out of two conflict zones in Georgia existing since early nineties, immediately after the country became independent. The inter-ethnic conflicts were built on the existed political conflict with Russia, though Russia was not seen as a side in conflict by international community, which allow Russian peace keeping forces to move into the region, freeze the conflict and since then continuously control the situation.
