Call for Volunteers

Roster of Psycho-Social Experts

Website of the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal CourtThe Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court is seeking to establish a roster of experienced psychologists, to work with the ICC on an ad hoc and short-term basis conducting psycho-social assessments of victims the ICC would like to interview as part of their investigations into war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.

The roster is being co-ordinated by victim experts within the Investigation Division of the Office of the Prosecutor.

The 'in-house' capacity of the ICC is insufficient at this stage to cover the volume of victims to be interviewed by the Court and therefore the Investigations Division is building a network of experts from the psycho-social fields, preferably specialized in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), who are interested and qualified to conduct assessments in the field on a short-term contract basis. Field missions are usually conducted over a two week period.

The role of the Psycho-social Experts is to:

Qualifications and Experience:

Experience - at least two years related experience in dealing with victim issues and those suffering from trauma; Prior international work experience would be an asset.

Knowledge of Languages:
Fluency, both written and oral, in English OR French, is essential. Knowledge of another official language of the Court would be considered an additional asset.

To apply to be considered for the roster please contact Vedrana Mladina-Damjanovic, Associate Victims Expert, email: vedrana.mladinadamjanovic@icc-cpi.int.
