Vittoria Ardino Vittoria Ardino Ph. D.
I am a senior lecturer in forensic psychology at London Metropolitan University and a visiting lecturer in forensic psychology at Royal Holloway, University of London. I also collaborate with the Trauma Unit of the Catholic University of Milan, led by Paola Di Blasio. Further, I am also an advisory member of the Centre for Abuse and Trauma led by Antonia Bifulco and Julia Davidson.
My research area bridges clinical and forensic psychology as it specifically focuses on the link between unresolved traumas and criminal behaviour and the implications of this for trauma assessment and treatment in forensic settings. I have conducted and published several studies that investigate the interaction between PTSD and the risk of re-offending. I have recently also become interested in the neurobiological mediators between PTSD and criminal behaviour. I would particularly like to conduct multisite studies that address the ways in which violence and crime may move trauma to a societal level, particularly in post-conflict countries.
I already served the ESTSS as the leader of the "Trauma and Forensic" task force.
