Per-Olof Michel
I am a psychiatrist and have a post-doc position at the Swedish National Centre for Disaster Psychiatry. Earlier, I worked for thirteen years as the Director of Psychiatry with the Swedish Armed Forces. In that position I was a member of NATO´s Working Group on Military Psychiatry. I am a former President of the Swedish Military Medical Officers' Association. I have written books and articles in the field of psychotraumatology. I have taken part in official civilian field operations, which included supporting traumatized Swedes in Thailand after the tsunami and evacuating Swedish citizens from Lebanon last summer.
My special interest in the field of psychotraumatology is early interventions, an area I would like to help develop.
I will work with power and experience from the field in addition to academic merits. And last but not least, I am easygoing and enjoy things that bring pleasure to life.
