Neil Greenberg:
Having been a UK Armed Forces Medical Officer since 1989 and having worked as a psychiatrist since 1997, I have dealt with the consequences of traumatic stress from both a clinical and organisational viewpoint. Over the last six years I have been part of a high quality psychological research organisation and have also provided clinical and advisory input to a wide variety of UK and European organisations in relation to preparing for and dealing with traumatic events. Having presented at numerous international conferences, including ESTSS and ISTSS, I am keen to join the ESTSS board. I think the current climate, with the diagnostic manuals soon to be updated and international conflicts and terrorism frequently in the news, will make being part of a team which subscribes to fostering an evidence based approach to dealing with traumatic stress and its psychological consequences an exciting and challenging role.
