Introduction to Traumatic Stress Studies, one day workshop October 3, 2008, Appleby-in-Westmorland, Cumbria, United Kingdom
Workshop of interest to individuals with a mental health or counselling/CBT qualification of at least diploma level. The workshop will be interactive and include small group work, case vignettes and supporting video footage of trauma focused psychological therapy in action and is eligible for the ESTSS General Certificate in Psychotraumatology. Uppsala Psycho Trauma Days (UPTD) / European Workshop on Traumatic Stress (EWOTS), 23-24 October 2008, Uppsala, Sweden
The "Uppsala Psycho-trauma days" is an annual conference that has been held since 1997. This year, the conference will focus on recent findings in the psycho-trauma field. The main language will be Scandinavian but two workshops, Psychological Treatment of PTSD and Neurobiology and Pharmacological Treatment of PTSD, will be held in English and be eligible for the ESTSS General Certificate in Psychotraumatology. First International Conference on Survivors of Rape, November 14-15, 2008, Aarhus, Denmark
The main aim of the conference is to explore some of the challenges in the treatment of survivors of sexual assaults. Many assault survivors still suffer mentally and physically years after the assault. This conference tries to give some answers on how to make sure that rape survivors are offered the best forms of care and support - medically, psychologically as well as judicially.
The conference has a wide target group consisting of psychologists,
medical doctors, nurses, forensic scientists, police officers, lawyers,
social workers, crisis centre workers, volunteers and others who work

Beyond Combat, 27th November 2008, Hull, Great Brittain
A conference to raise awareness of the mental health needs of veterans. Working with veterans is becoming more relevant due to the numbers returning from active service with mental health problems. This conference will consider the issues for veterans accessing primary care and mental health services. It will highlight good practice in the services available both locally and nationally to promote mental health and emotional wellbeing in those affected by their experiences in the armed forces. ESTSS Regional Conference, 11-12 December 2008, Cardiff, Great Brittain
Cardiff Council in association with the Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust Traumatic Stress Service and Cardiff University host a regional European Society for Traumatic Stress Studies conference which aims to combine an opportunity to improve knowledge in various aspects of traumatic stress and to provide a forum to discuss issues with others interested in this field. The conference workshops will all qualify for the ESTSS General Certificate in Psychotraumatology.

11th European Conference on Traumatic Stress (11th ECOTS), 15-18 June 2009, Oslo, Norway
Preliminary theme for the Conference: "Violence and Trauma in Lives and Communities - Roads to Prevention and Repair". The conference will cover a broad range of perspectives corresponding to the themes for wich Norwegian Centre for Violence and Traumatic stress studies is responsible. These themes include individual and collective stress exposure, refugee health and forced migration, domestic violence and sexual abuse and a special focus on children and adolescents.
